January 26th Lecture

Today was the first lecture of the spring semester here at Tyler, and geeze it was a mess. Okay, that's a total lie but the speaker for the international programs here at Temple was extremely late to the lecture. Everyone had fun socializing in the meantime, but some of the information the international studies speaker provided was very useful.

-Most students say that studying abroad in college was a very valuable experience and helped them later in their college career.
-Only 5% of students chose to study abroad and it really sets you apart from others when applying for jobs or anything of that like nature.
-There are a TON of summer programs including one to India as well as other parts of the world. The other options are short term (3-6 weeks), semesters, and year long exchange programs.
-She was hilarious and said something to the likeness of "CAN'T LEAVE YOUR BOYFRIEND? YOU'RE SILLY. GO TO ROME."
-The school will reimburse you for getting a passport even if you're just "thinking" about studying abroad. Which is SUPER awesome.

Aside from the lecture I spent the rest of yesterday building wire feathers for my dead bird made out of, you guessed it, wire. Ohhhh well. This weekend is going to be full of working nonstop.
